It all started around circa 1975 nobody quite remembers when or cares.

But we are all thankful it did get started, because we are all having too much fun.

There are No Winners or Losers just folks that love to Bowl.

Sunday 8.30am - 11.30am  Dress Casual with flat soled shoes...

Green Fees - $8.00 - Are donated to our Not For Profit Services. June 2015 we gave $15,000 to the good folks of local Ballina Not For Profit Services. June 2016 we will give another $15,000 making over $40,000 in donations in Three years. We Have already donated $556 to White Ribbon Day 2016 – Violence Against Women.

Often we will have a BBQ after the game, if you have never bowled before we will teach you so come along and enjoy, then you can teach others to do the same.

About Us

We are a bunch of like minded people who enjoy our mixed social bowling. *** There are no winners or losers.*** We welcome new members with open arms so don't be shy! COME AND SAY HI *** We have great trips away come and ask anyone. *** Maybe too much fun in the sun,,,,,,,,, just kidding. ***

Our social calendar is one of the reasons our growth is so prolific as well as the fun filled atmosphere that’s created with our “no winners or losers” policy. In the coming months we have three away social bowling trips to Kingscliff, Tweed Heads and an o’nite trip to Woolgoolga as well as receiving visits from the Golden Crest Manor from Nerang Queensland. Then we have a group of 50 plus from the newly formed Inverell Social Bowls group. They formed after one of their members visited the Trappers four months ago, saw how we did it and copied us. How’s that for a recommendation? These visits also boost our donation gifts to the charities.

The success of our social bowls on Sundays and the continual growth of our membership (now 243) is proof positive that folks enjoy what we do and we field on average between 50 – 60 players on a Sunday morning.

Our membership is growing almost weekly.

We support our local Not For Profit Services by donating our fundraising profits to what we consider the most needy causes in our area.

7 recipients received $2,000 each from General Manager Tere Sheehan who commended the Trappers for their community support over the past 12 months with a total of $40,000 donated to various local NFP groups all chosen by our members. 2016 recipients were, not in any particular order, Riding for the Disabled, Paradise FM, Westpac Helicopter, Local SES, Ballina Sea Rescue Boat, Rural Fire Service,  Wire NR Wildlife Service, Ballina Oncology Unit.

Rabbit Trappers Social Bowls Group Team Profile

We are already well on our way to our next target in June 2017 and our members are hard at work selecting the next group of Not For Profit Services to benefit from our efforts... Not bad for we are a group of Social Bowlers that meet once a week every Sunday morning for some Fun in the Sun.

For a fun Sunday, just turn up by 8.30 for a 9.00AM start. First timers and the not so sure, come and watch, there are plenty of light refreshments (and heavy) on hand to keep you going. Every Sunday 8.30am Game starts 9.00am till 11.30am Dress Casual, with flat soled shoes... Game Fees - $8.00 - 100% goes to our local Not for Profit services.
